Antelope & Oryx

Antelope

Antelope 1

Antelope abound in the plains country and seeing an abundance of bucks makes this hunt fun.  Having a professional guide who recognized the fine line that makes a trophy antelope, that inch or two in height or mass, and a shooter who can hold out, are the keys to success and the harvest of a record buck.  We offer a five day archery antelope hunt in mid August that gets you up close and personal and our rifle season is a two day weekend hunt the first of October during the rut.

Antelope 2

The rifle season is perfect for couples or a father and son or daughter.  The terrain is mostly flat and easy to cover for the young or restricted hunter.  Success is high and the abundance of game keeps everyone enthusiastic.  To top it off New Mexico is home to numerous record book antelope.

Oryx

Oryx 1

Oryx are magnificent animals that were introduced into New Mexico about 20 years ago. This is an extremely enjoyable, and exciting hunt, with oryx running from the greasewood flats and sand hill desert to the pinon and juniper country.  Oryx hunting is similar to antelope hunting, it is more about selection, takes place in relatively easy flat country, has a high success rate, and the meat is delicious.  It’s a fun hunt for the family and can be taken most any time of the year through depredation landowner permits.
