About Us
It all began back in the early 80’s when Ross used to trade in the fur market. The market fell, we got a few (more) hound dogs and started outfitting lion and bear hunts. From there it was a natural step to outfitting elk, mule deer, antelope, and other big game species.
Over the years we’ve kissed a few horny toads for good luck and been “wammied” by a few crows who brought the worst. The end result being that we have placed our clients in the right place at the right time and harvested some extraordinary animals. The number of 400 class bulls, 180 to 200 class mule deer, and 90 inch antelope harvested by clients of Ross Johnson Outfitters speaks for itself.
The stories and experiences that go with each hunt are invaluable. The interesting people that we meet each and every year, the friendships that develop between complete strangers in camp, the laughter shared, these are the trophies taken home in addition to the harvest.
